23.2.12

My big sis.

My darling big sister is in Australia just now.
Last time I saw her was 20th September 2011 when she was saying good-bye to me as I headed off to California.
There were some tears.
She is the best sister a girl could ask for.
I am missing her lots just now.
Thankfully we get to Skype it up.

Today she climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge, while I had a Disney duvet day.
Both I think are equally awesome, well maybe her day topped mine a little bit.
But Tarzan, Aladdin and Hercules were pretty good company for this girl too.

Anyway. Sister, I wish that I could watch Pocahontas with you and sing along to it and laugh uncontrollably at how hilarious we are!
But we could watch any movie and I would be happy.
There is nothing quite like time with you.
I miss you more than you know and can't wait til the day that I see you again.
It is going to be one special day.
I love you, and I am so thankful for our friendship.

This photo was taken a year ago at our baby brother's passing out parade.
We had been sitting outside for about an hour, it was so so cold.
It cracks me up everytime I look at it.
I treasure it.

Linking with Emily today. You should too! Go grab someone you love and take a precious photo with them.

Safe.

A few days ago I received some very sad news from my Church family in California.
A young guy was killed in a car accident.
I am lifting them up in prayer.
Please pray for them with me.
My heart is hurting for his family.
It is comforting to know that he is safely home and with the Lord now.

This song has been on my mind.
One day we will all be safe in His arms.
Thankful that right now, Connor is wrapped in His loving arms.

Happy Day.

Today my sweet friend, Nikki, is graduatating.
I am so happy and excited for her.
She has worked so hard.
I don't know anyone that deserves this more.
I remember going to look round the college with her in 2006.
I can't believe she is done now!
I am so proud of her.

I am very sad that I am not there celebrating with her and her family.
I have not been able to think of anything else all day.
A couple of days ago I was even looking up flights!
Oh my goodness!!
I just so want to be there with my friend for her special day.
I was hoping that the Lord would have me over there already, but that was in my plan and not His. (more on that soon)

Nikki, I am so blessed to call you friend.
You know that you are like a sister to me.
You are such a caring, loving girl who is full of energy and love for the Lord.
I have learnt so much from you over the years.
I'm sorry that I am not there with you today.
But I am looking forward to all the memories we are going to make together in the years to come.
I know that there will be many more.
I miss you, every day.
I love you.

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus

Sisters.

My sister in on holiday this week.
She is spending a week in Barcelona.
I am sitting inside watching the rain from my window.
Yes, I am a little bit jealous.
But I will get over it.
Until I she comes back and will have a beautiful tan.
I am a little (6ft tall) pale thing, and she has olive skin and tans so easily.
Annnnywho..today I am going to share some fun pictures of my with my sister/best friend.
These were taken a few months ago but I never got round to posting them.
So here you go.

Everyone always tells us how alike we look.
I have to agree.
My sister was approached by a man that she didn't know last week.
She said he was staring at her for a while before he came over to her.
Yeah, she was freaked out!
He said to her "are you Harriet's sister?"
It was a dear friend of mine that I used to work with, who she had never met before.
It made me smile.
So funny.
I don't mind looking like my big sister.
She is pretty wonderful.

When she gets home I am going to grab my camera and get some new photos with my lovely sister - and her tan!

Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God
Philippians 1:3

I am linking up with  Emily today - actually today it is Amy!
Go and grab someone you love and get your picture taken with them.
You can never have enough photos with your loves.

And while you are at it, say a little (or BIG) prayer for the lovely Emily.
Praying that this sickness will pass soon.

The little one.

The little one was home for 2 weeks. It was so good having him home. And the best part is that I don't even have to miss him yet because he is home for the weekend again tomorrow. I made a point of taking some photos of us together.
Sometimes he was being pretty difficult.
Sometimes he was being pretty funny.
Sometimes he was being pretty sweet.

Sometimes he was being pretty werid.
But whatever faces he was pulling, it sure was great having him home. Can't wait to get him home again this weekend for his birthday. How is it that my baby brother is turning 18? This scares me a lot.

23.4.11

The ultimate sacrifice.

I always get very emotional when I think about what our Lord did for us. This weekend I will be thinking about the sacrifice that  our Lord Jesus made for us, and our Father in heaven who sent His one and only Son to save us. This is much more important to me than the Easter eggs that will be eaten. As much as I love chocolate I love my Lord more.

Praying that you all have a blessed weekend. I'll be praising the Lord.

Here is a little video that will get you emotional. I cry every time I watch it.

Happy Valentine's Day!

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
  Love never fails."

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

I had a very quiet V-day! I had lunch with one of my best friends. I did get a few special messages from people that I love. I just read the above passage and when I was typing this post (and highlighting the different parts, which actually really makes you think about what is being said in the passage!) I had to smile. What a beautiful reminder of love. How wonderful to know that there is someone who loves us unconditionally, who loves us sooo much that He sent His one and only Son to save us. This just makes my heart so happy.

I sure hope that you felt loved today, and made someone feel loved.

p.s. I had to smile today I was getting some groceries at around 7pm and there were lots of men raking the flowers that were left...and on sale!

7.2.11

Coming soon.

I have to post more often. Believe it or not it was actually one of my new year resolutions - need to work on that one! This is going to be a very quick post, sorry sorry. I have LOTS to fill you in on.

But for now I am going to leave you with a sneak peek of my weekend. So proud of my not-so-baby-anymore brother. Isn't he sooo handsome? I know that I am biased but you know he is too!

Much more to say, and soon.
